Free and Fabulous

Hey Friends! Sorry I have been absent lately, I've been traveling for work quite a bit, but I promise to get better at posting more consistently!

Here is another great outfit to transition into fall weather. I paired a flowy dress with a light sweater and some maroon booties for a fun, fall, flare! I kept the accessories to a minimum in this outfit, but you could also put tights and a big chunky scarf with it when the weather gets cold. I topped it off with my go-to bag the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac. It is honestly the best thing I have ever purchased and I wish I could afford it in every color!

Breaking The Rules

Whoever said you can't wear white after labor day, was seriously disturbed.  Since the weather in Kansas loves to change every 5 minutes I paired my outfit with a lightweight sweater and white jeans for a summery flare.

This sweater may look thick and comfy, but it is very airy so it's perfect for those warmer fall days.  The original sweater is from H&M, but here and here are some similar links.

The white jeans I have had for so long and they have worn so wonderfully! Surprisingly they are from Forever 21. Here is a similar pair from Gap that look like a similar fit and they are on sale!

I topped this casual look off with a statement necklace to add a little glam and some black and gold sandals to tie it all together.

Pretty in Pink

You will all soon come to find out that pink is one of my all time favorite colors! My tank is from Francesca's.  Here is the same top, unfortunately it's not online in the pink color.

My white cardigan is from H&M and it is the perfect layering piece.  Here is a similar style.

You can never go wrong with dark denim, so I paired the two pieces with one of my all time favorite jeans from Gap.  You can get dark denim pretty much anywhere! Especially now that it's denim season.

The earrings I'm wearing are Kendra Scott and beware followers, her jewelry line is addicting! It's like candy. I keep wanting more. I loved pairing the bright earrings with the bright shirt. HERE is where you can get the same pair.

Polished and Professional

Hey Divas, Since I have been out of town on a client site, I decided I would feature a professional look with a fun, girly flare! This look is super easy, and requires minimum effort.  In this outfit the dress I am wearing is from the J.Crew factory outlet. Here and here are some similar styles.  It is the perfect colors for transitioning into fall.

To make it more fall appropriate I paired it with a black blazer and heeled booties. Here is a similar style.  Last but not least is the pop of color. This fun fuchsia colored bag is from H&M and can make any outfit go from drab to fab. You can find similar styles here and here

All Things Red and Blue

Hey ya'll! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was homecoming weekend at my alma mater so mine consisted of tailgating and football. Since the start of my freshman year of college game day attire has completely shifted, from a simple t-shirt and jeans to dresses and booties. Game day is a day to look your best while supporting your favorite teams colors.

 Rock Chalk!

Office Looks

This look is the first of many of my office looks. Fortunately, the company I work for has a jean casual campus so I get very lucky with what I can wear to work. In this outfit I styled a look I'm sure many of you can put together. It consists of 3 main pieces and then added accessories.

Let's start with the shirt. I got it for a steal (8 dollars!) at Old Navy. One of my favorites places to get staple pieces for a great price. It's even on sale right now for 5.99! I also have it in the maroon color too.

The next piece I'm wearing is the cardigan. It is one of my favorite pieces for fall because it is super comfortable! The color is a light beige so it can be worn with pretty much anything.  I got mine at H&M, which it is hard to find anything from their store online, but I found some similar styles here and here

The jeans I am wearing are a lighter wash denim, with a little distress, but are super comfortable! And I am loving the cuffed jeans with booties look. The jeans are from Lauren Conrad's collection available at Kohl's.

Last, but definitely not least are the accessories on this outfit.  The necklace I'm wearing is from Nicole Riche's line House of Harlow. I am OBSESSED with this line. I have the necklace in about every color.  You can find that exact match here and I highly suggest checking out her entire collection.

On my feet I am wearing my new work booties that I got because the color goes with everything and the heel is comfortable enough to wear around the office.  Mine are originally from Famous Footwear, but the exact match can be found here

The bag I am wearing is from Kate Spade. I got it this summer in California and it is the perfect statement bag. It's big enough to where I can fit all of my necessities inside, but small enough to grab on-the-go. The bag isn't sold in the red color on the Kate Spade website, but here is the style of bag. And here is a similar style and color.

Basic Bohemian

This past weekend was the Plaza Art Fair in Kansas City, MO. So of course I had to take the opportunity to pull out my new fall hat! With the cooler weather coming up I decided to pair it with some dark denim and a light weight kimono.

This look can be so versatile, you can dress it down for a day at the art fair, or you could dress it up with some heels and some bright lipstick for a night on the town.

The hat is from old navy and they sell it in black and brown and I am so tempted to go buy it in the brown. You can find similar styles here and here

I bought this kimono in June and I have been dying to wear it, so with the cooler weather I thought it would be perfect! This kimono is originally from Free People, but I snagged it as Nordstrom's rack for a steal!

The white crop tank is from H&M and has been so useful over the summer. I thought it added a little more detail to the outfit. Here is a similar option.

On my feet I am wearing the best shoes I've ever bought. They have put the cherry on top of all of my summer outfits. The ones I am wearing are from H&M and I searched for them high and low. However, they are not online, but these are almost identical!

KC Born and Raised

Hey y'all! So this is my first post EVER and I am so excited to be sharing my love of style with you all! First of all I want to say thank you to my two beautiful roomies (Lizzy and Chelsi) who take my pictures for me, without them I wouldn't be able to do this!

Hopefully this blog will help you find timeless pieces you have in your own closets and put them together differently to create a unique, yet classic look.

Since Kansas City has been my home these past twenty-some years I thought I would give a shout out to one of the many awesome local shops.  In the pictures below I am wearing the KC heart tee in athletic grey made by Charlie Hustle.  I'm also wearing a chambray top which everyone (girl or boy) should have at least one type of item in their closet. You can style this type of top anyway you want, but I chose to pair it open, with a tee for a more casual look.  The one I'm wearing is made by BCBG generation, but you can find similar ones here and here.

On the bottom I am wearing levi cut-off denim shorts. Jean shorts are a must have for the summer, and I get all of mine from Urban Outfitters.  They have a wider selection in store ranging from different colors, and levels of distress.

On my feet I've got the classic Chuck Taylor high-top's that can make any outfit look cute and casual.
